Set up your event photo QR from your AI assistant.
Connect GuestDrop to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or VS Code. Ask for an event and get back the QR code your guests scan. Free, and you can disconnect any time.

Three steps stay in your browser. Connecting Google Drive, paying, and uploading a cover photo. For each one the assistant hands you a link.
Connect your assistant
Every assistant uses the same URL. You sign in with the Google account you use on GuestDrop, then approve what the assistant can do.
Claude
Claude.ai and the Claude desktop app. Works on the Free plan, which allows one custom connector.
- 1In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- 2Click Add custom connector. Name it GuestDrop and paste the URL:
https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp - 3Click Add, then Connect. Sign in with Google and approve on the GuestDrop screen.
- 4In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and make sure GuestDrop is on. Then ask for your event.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings, then each member clicks Connect.
Claude Code
The terminal and IDE versions of Claude.
- 1Add the server:
claude mcp add --transport http guestdrop https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp - 2In Claude Code, run /mcp, pick guestdrop and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens to sign in.
ChatGPT
Works today through developer mode, on paid plans on the web.
ChatGPT only lets you add a server by URL in developer mode, which needs a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan. On Business and Enterprise, your admin may have turned it off.
Show the developer mode steps
- 1Open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- 2Click Create app. Name it GuestDrop, paste the URL and choose OAuth:
https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp - 3Tick the box to confirm you trust the server, click Create, then sign in with Google and approve.
- 4In a new chat, pick GuestDrop from the tools menu and ask for your event.
Codex
OpenAI’s coding agent, in the terminal or IDE.
- 1Add the server:
codex mcp add guestdrop --url https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp - 2Sign in with Google in the browser window Codex opens. If none opens, run:
codex mcp login guestdrop
Prefer a key? Put it in an environment variable and add the server with --bearer-token-env-var GUESTDROP_API_KEY instead of logging in. Get a key.
Cursor
Install in one click, or add it to your MCP config.
Or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"guestdrop": {
"url": "https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}In Cursor's MCP settings, click Connect next to guestdrop to sign in. With an API key instead, add "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer gd_..." } next to the URL.
VS Code
GitHub Copilot’s agent mode in Visual Studio Code.
Or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP and paste the URL. In a workspace, .vscode/mcp.json looks like this:
{
"servers": {
"guestdrop": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://guestdrop.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}Start the server when VS Code asks, and sign in with Google in the browser window it opens.
API key
For tools that take a key instead of a sign-in.
- 1Sign in to GuestDrop, then open Account settings from your account menu on the dashboard.
- 2Under Agent access, name your key and click Create key. Copy it now: it is shown once.
- 3Send it as a bearer token with every request:
Authorization: Bearer gd_...
A key can see and change your events, like a signed-in assistant. Revoke a key, or any connected assistant, from the same place, and it stops working on its next request.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. Connecting an assistant is free, and so is everything it does for you. You only pay if you choose to keep a gallery open longer, on the same checkout page the website uses.
Can my assistant see my Google account?
No. You sign in to GuestDrop with Google, and your Google and Drive tokens stay on GuestDrop’s servers. The assistant only gets a GuestDrop token that works on your events.
Can the assistant pay for me?
No. It gives you a checkout link, and you pay on the checkout page yourself. Your card details never pass through the assistant.
Could it delete photos by mistake?
Deleting needs an explicit confirmation. Without it, the assistant only tells you what would be deleted, so you can check before anything is removed.
Do my guests need any of this?
No. Guests still scan the QR and upload in seconds, with no app and no signup. This page is only for you, the host.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Open account settings, find Agent access, and revoke the assistant or the API key. It stops working on its next request.
Rather use the website? Create an event in under a minute. Galleries stay open free for up to 7 days after your event.
